12 Days until Christmas
They day is commentated in Italy where Lucy is the patron saint of Sicily. In some parts of Italy she takes on a Santa like role where she brings gifts to good children on the back of a donkey. Also children aren't to look at her doing her thing or she will throw ashes in their eyes blinding them for a bit.
In Scandinavian countries the day is commentated with girls wearing candles on their heads and robe with a red sash. Thought it's not officially a holiday where people have it off or things but still celebrated. Boys dress up in the same robes with a cone shaped hat.with golden stars. This is called 'Stjärngossar' or Star boys. Some girls might dress up without the candles as well.
There's also a food dedicated to the day , a Saint Lucia Bun. (You can find out how to make this here)
You can read how Italy celebrates the day here.
